As you write your own reading response this week, please remember these things:
•It should be about the book you are reading at home.
•You should tell the title and the author.
•You should tell a little bit about what the book is about. (This is a brief one or two sentence summary)
•Include one question you had while reading. Tell if this is a thick or a thin question. Did you find and answer?
•It needs to be one paragraph of 5-7 sentences.
•It can be turned in on paper OR by commenting on this blog post. The response is due 9-24.
I am reading the Big One-Oh, by Dean Pitchford. Charley has been really stressed out about finding a theme for his party. He has decided to have a House of Horrors theme. Charley and Garry are becoming friends. One question I had while reading is what seven people will come to Charley's birthday party. This is a thin question becuase I will probably find the answer while I am reading the rest of the book.

ReplyDeleteI am reading "The 39 Clues, book two, The Sword Thief", by Peter Lerangis. Dan has been having a very bad time because he and Amy made an alliance with one of their competitors, Uncle Alistair. Both teams need each other. I wonder how long both teams will stay together? This is a thin question because I know that I will find out later in the book. I'm also wondering how Dan and Amy will break this alliance? This is a thicker question since the author will need many chapters to make this happen.-Lucas G.

I am reading a book called Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. In this book, the main character Roy and his friend Mullet Fingers are trying to save some owls that are going to get buried when workers build a pancake house. Ivy is trying to find their birth parents but when she went to the adoption agency they could find no file of Ivy Vega. I have a thick question about this book. ReplyDeleteI'm reading the book The Big One-OH by Dean Pitchford. This is a story about a boy named Charlie who is trying to make friends so he can invite them to his birthday party. He didn't have any friends because people think that he's weird. He wants to have a birthday theme called house of horrors. When I was reading it, I wondered whether or not he was going to have a good birthday party. That is a thin question because if I keep reading I will find out the answer. I am excited to keep reading.! Jason Grenia
ReplyDeleteI am still reading Fudge-a-mania by Judy Blume. This time, I have new information. Fudge and his brother Peter went out to find Uncle Feather, their lost Myna bird. While they were looking, they met their neighbors. Their names were Mrs. A, a grandmother, and her 5 year old grandaughter named Mitzi. Our reading focus this week is asking questions. The question keep asking is, why Fudge and Peter never told Mrs. A that Uncle Feather is a bird? So, she thinks they are looking for a lost person. By the way, what does the A stand for in Mrs. A's name. I can't wait to find out.
