The Writing Process

We have been learning about the writing process. We have made signs for each step of the process.

Kara and Kayla are reading to the wall during the reading stage. Check our their rereading hats! When we reread we take off our "writing hat" and put on our "reading hat."

Grace is doing her proofreading and editing. The red pencil is used for editing punctuation, the green is for capitalization, and the blue is for spelling. When we edit for spelling we read our writing backward like real editors!

Lucas is working hard to polish his piece and make it shine! The teacher grades the polished piece and "teacher edits" them before they are published.
