This week I am reading the Magic Half by Annie Barrow. The main character, Miri, accidentally traveled back in town and met Molly. Molly is in a horrible family and needs Miri's help. Miri is now back in the present time and is desperately trying to return to the 1930s and save Molly. I would recommend this book because each chapter is a cliffhanger and I never want to stop reading! I also feel like the characters are realistic and I can make connections to my own life.
IMPORTANT:
I will give 1 extra credit point to any student who comments on another student's posting. You can ask a question or make a comment. I will give 2 extra credit points to a student who goes to the library and checks out and reads (the whole thing) a book that a classmate recommended on the blog! Happy Reading!

ReplyDeleteI am reading "Diary of a Wimpy Kid; The Ugly Truth" by Jeff Kinney. It is about a kid named Greg and his friend/x friend Rowly. Greg goes to a school for a lock-in. It is basically a slumber party at his school. Greg doesn't know it but they actually lock the school and they stay there for the night. The parents get angry because the kids haven't been answering their cell phones and so the parents take them home. So Greg is left with only Rowley because they do not have cell phones yet. At the end of the book, Greg becomes friends with Rowley again. I recommend this book who likes funny stories about kids just like you and me.-Max
ReplyDeleteSam,
ReplyDeleteYour book sounds very interesting! Both my Great Grandpas fought in WWII. One was a soldier in Germany and the other was a surgeon in a army hospital in France. I think your book connects to Veteran's Day. Did Scott Collins survive? I wonder how old he would be today? I think I want to read this book.

This week I started reading the book The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan. It is Percy's second year at Camp Half-Blood. The magical border protecting the camp has been poisoned. This scares almost everyone. Students have to help protect the borders. Another thing that happens is Percy finds out that one of his friends, Tyson, is a cyclops. My brother told me this book was really good and he is right. I would recommend it to anyone who likes action-packed stories. I can't wait to see how it ends!
