I just finished Scat by Carl Hiaasen. The main characters are Nick Waters, Mrs.Starch, and Marta.
ReplyDeleteNick's Dad is in the army in Iraq, and lost his right arm. Marta is Nick's best friend. Mrs.Starch is their Biology teacher at Truman school. The setting is in Florida. All I know about the plot is that so far, with this author it is the setting is in Florida because in Hoot it was in Florida too. Also, the plot has a endangered animal and somebody is trying to save it. Scat is a really good book and I reccomend it to anybody.

I have just finished Rissa Bartholomew's Declaration of Independence.The main character is Rissa in this book. Rissa is in 6th grade she collects knomes and is desparetly looking for a new best friend. After she lost her old best friend in a fight at their birthday party. the setting is Illinois at a middle school. I know that because in the book she says she lives in illinois and she is 12 and in 6th grade. The plot is that she is trying to find a new friend while her old friends want her to join their group again.-Grace

ReplyDeletedear Mrs.Phillips I'm reading Number The Stars by Lois Lowry as you all ready know.It's about two girls named Annemarie Johansen and her best friend named Ellen Rosen.Unfortchunetly this back when the Nazie soldiers tourchered Jews and even people who are not German!!!!!!!!And know Ellen has to move in with the Johansens and pretend that she is Lise{Lise is Annemarie's sister who died in a car axadent}.Now I know I'm going to skip a lot but I don't want to make this to long.And now for the week they are going to visit Annemarie's Unkiel Henrick.And now unkiel Henrick has to take the Rosen's on his boat at night and take them across the lake to Sweden because there are no soldiers at Sweden.And when Annemarie wakes up and looks in the room that her mom would slep in and finds her mom is not in the room or bed she looks out the window and sees her mom laying down on the trail but still breathing.She runs out to her mom and her mom said it was so dark I didn't see the tree stump and triped over it and broke her anckle.-Dani

ReplyDeleteHi! I am still reading The Journey by Kathryn Lasky it was the 2 book of The Guardians of Ga`Hoole series. It`s about Soren, a Barn owl or “Tyto”, and his friends. Gylfie, is an elf owl, Twighlight is a great gray owl, and Digger is a burrowing owl. There is also Mrs. P, the nurse mate. She is a blind snake. They are on a journey to the Great Ga’Hoole Tree. They must cross the forest, the desert, the sea, they go off course and end up in the ice narrows. The find puffins in the ice narrows. I am about halfway through the book and they have reached the tree and are getting comfortable there. I wonder what will happen next?
I am reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In this book, the main characters are Harry, Dumbledore, and Voldemort. Dumbledore is a great wizard who is the Headmaster at Hogwarts. Harry is a young wizard who is trying to not be killed by Voldemort. Voldemort is a very bad and dangerous wizard. The setting of Hogwarts is in England. I know this because it says so in the books. The plot of Harry Potter is that Voldemort is trying to take over the wizarding world and kill Harry. Dumbledore is teaching Harry about Voldemort's past to help him survive.

I'm in the beginning of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In the book so far, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are the only main characters. Harry is a young wizard who is learning new spells. Ron is a nerdy wizard who carries his rat, Scabbers. Hermione is a smart wizard and she thinks she knows everything. The setting is the stadium where the world cup is because Harry, right now in the book, is watching the game. Ireland is winning and there are little leprechauns jummping around. I don't know what the plot is because I haven't gotten that far yet. -Andrew
ReplyDeleteI am reading Dragon Ball this book is about Goku.Goku is a sayin sayins are the strongest warriors in the universe.Goku enters the martial arts turnnement whith his freind Krillan they both make it to the semi finals thats all ive read so far.The main charicters are Goku and Krillan.I now that Goku is stronger than the 2 but Krillan is much smarter.The setting is the martial arts turnnement i now this,because they are fighting in the martial arts turnnement arena.The plot is for Goku to win the turnnement and the prize money.

This week I read Book 1 of the Ranger's Apprentice Series: The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan. The main characters in my book are Halt, Will, Gilan, Horace, and Sir Rodney. I know that Halt is training Will to be a Ranger. Halt's last trainee was Gilan. A Ranger is a person that fights battles BEFORE it can reach the kingdom. They serve and protect the kingdom. Halt is an adult with many skills. Will is small, fast, and kind. I know that Horace is a cadet in Battle School. He is tall, strong, and smart. I know that Sir Rodney is the Head Master of the Battle School. He is a full-fledged knight! The setting takes place in the kingdom of Gorlan. I know this because author describes Gorlan in the first chapter. The plot of this story is what kept me reading! Will and Gilan have been given the task of stopping the Kalkara. They are the monster warriors that Morgarath sent to destroy the kingdom. Morgarath is the Lord of the Night Mountains and he is evil! At the end Halt and Sir Rodney are injured because the battles were so difficult. The Kalkara are defeated though.

I am reading Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. It is the story of a 10 year old girl named Winnie Foster. She meets the Tuck family later on. The Tucks have a seceret, they will live forever. They drank water from a spring that made them imortal. They will stay the same forever. They know that the world must never be let in on their secret, for it would change life on earth for the worse. Winnie falls in love Jesse Tuck, 17,and she must decide between being immortal and being with Jesse or lving a normal life. This story is set in teh 1880's and takes place in a heavily-wooded forest near a town called Treegap.- Max
ReplyDeleteI am reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.The main characters are Brian Robeson, Mrs.Robeson,and Mr.Robeson.Brian's parents have just got divorced,and Brian lives with his Mom during the school year,and lives with his Dad during the summer.The plot of the story is that while trying to go to see his father in Canada,the pilot suffers from a heart attack and dies.So the plane crashes somewhere in the Canadian wilderness.The setting is just like I said,in the canadian wilderness.I recommened this book to people who love intense stories and feeling like your living the story.-Jacob
ReplyDeleteI am reading Found by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is about two 13 year olds named Chip and Jonah. They are both adopted and are good at basketball. One day while they were scrimmaging Chip and Jonah recieved an anonymous note that said: You are one of the missing. The setting is in a small town in the US. I know this because there are no busy streets and the characters speak english.-Kayla
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the book THE WRIGHT THREE by Blue BALLIETT. This book is about 3 kids named Tommy, Petra, and Calder who are friends. Tommy likes fish, Calder likes Pentominoes and Petra likes writing. The plot is that their 6th grade class is trying to save the Roby House (which is a famous house in Illinois, built by Frank Lloyd Wright) from destruction . Weird things start happening like voices coming from the house and shadows appearing. The setting is mostly in Hyde Park, Illinois. I recomend this book to anyone who loves a good and interesting mystery~J.C.
