•You should tell the title and the author.
•You should tell a little bit about what the book is about. (This is a brief one or two sentence summary)
•What is the point of view of your book? Who is telling the story? Pick a different character in the story and tell how the story would be different if it was told from that character's point of view.
For example: The Big One-Oh was told from the point of view of the main character, Charley. The story would have been different if it was told from Charley's Mom's point of view. We would not have know the personal struggle Charley was going through to make friends. He kept this struggle a secret from his mom.
I am reading the book Half Magic by Edward Eager. So far in my book they have found a magic nickel that is magic. You can make wishes on it but if you wish once only half of your wish will come true. But if you wish two times for the same thing the full wish will happen. The book is based on Jane's point of view. If the book were based on Carrie. (The cat.)point of you you would know nothing about the coin they found. I hope you can read this book to the class sometime.-Grace
ReplyDeleteI just finished a book called 'Homeless'by Laurie Halse Anderson. In this book, the main charecter Sunita and her friends volenteer at Wild at Heart Clinic. When the clinic's cat Socrates goes missing, Sunita and her friends try to find him. Instead,of finding Socrates, they find a whole group of cats. I think if the story had been told from Sunita's mom's piont of view, the story would have been different. Instead of knowing about Sunita and how much she likes cats,I would know about her mom and how much she doesn't like cats.-Angela
ReplyDeleteI am reading the book "Percy Jackson & The Olympians; The Battle of the Labyrinth", by Rick Riordan. So far in my book Percy Jackson has followed clues and found Daedalus' workshop. He is moving through the Labyrinth which is actually all over the United States! The workshop ended up being in Colorado springs! My book is told from Percy Jackson's point of view. There are many other characters. If it was told from Tyson the Cyclops' point of view, the story would be bery different. Tyson goes on a differnt path than Percy through the Labyrinth so he would come across different places and different characters. Sam
ReplyDeleteI just finshed the book The Widows Broom. This book is about a magic broom and a widow. But then when all of the widows neighbors come over they tease and make fun of the broom. They even set the broom on fire. If the point of view was told from the neighbors we would barely know anything about the widow and the magic and clever ideas of the broom. - Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteI am still reading the book, The Miserable Mill by Lemony Snicket. Violet, Klause, and Sunny still work at the mill, but when Klause's glasses break, he has to go to the eye doctor. When Klause comes back, he doesn't remember anything- not even his sisters! Our reading focus is point of view. This story is told from Violet, Klause, and Sunny's point of view. If it was told from Mr. Poe's(a man who is in charge of finding them a home), we wouldn't know about them actually working at the Mill because Mr.Poe only thinks they are living at the mill with a relative. I am really siked to finish this book.-Kayla
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading the book Big Nate in a Class by Himself. This book is written by Lincoln Peirce. In this book, the main character Nate, has a day at school that starts good then gets worse. It begins at lunch when Nate gets a fortune cookie. The fortune says "today you will surpass all others". During school, Nate gets detention slips from all of the teachers in the school. At the end of the day he has finally surpassed all others by getting the most detention slips ever. This book is told from Nate`s point of veiw. I think if it was told from a teachers point of veiw the story would be different.~J.C.
ReplyDeleteThe book that I am reading is Order of the Phoenix. This book was written by J.K. Rowling. I haven't gotten that far in the book, but I'll tell you what I know so far. Lord Voldemort has sent two dementors to kill Harry. But instead the dementors almost kill Duddly, Harry's cousin. Harry uses a patronus on it and the dementor turned into thin air. This story is told by a voice that knows everything. The author describes what the characters are doing and thinking. If Ron told the story, Ron wouldn't know about the 2 dementors attacking Harry unless Harry told him. I don't think this story would be as interesting if Ron told the story.~Lucas
ReplyDeleteIm reading 'The Journal of Scott Penltton Collins". It is about a person named Scott. Scott arrives in Normandy,France on D-Day. Scott has lot's of courge to go to war. Scott almost died by a Nazi. Most of the Nazi's die in the war. If it were told by Bobby Joe (another character), he would not include the part where the Nazi planes flew over them when they where sleeping. -Max

ReplyDeleteI am still reading The Big One-Oh! by Dean Pitchford. This is a story about a boy named Charlie who is trying to make friends. He plans a party without his mom knowing. It is written from the point of view of Charlie. If the story was written from the point of view of Charlie's mom, there would be no description of the party because she was at work when it happened. I'm still reading this book at home and I am waiting to see if Charlie's mom finds out about the party. I wonder if she will be mad that he had the party without her knowing. -Jason

ReplyDeleteI am reading "The Journal of Wong Ming-Cung; A Chinese Miner. This book tells about a boy named Wong Ming-Chung and his family in China. So far in the book, Wong is about to follow his Uncle to the Golden Mountain in California. They are searching for gold to send back to the rest of his family in China. His family just decided to send him instead of Blessing, his older brother. His brother is not happy about going to the Golden Mountain. My question is did Wong Ming ever make it to his Uncle and the Golden Mountain? - Max

Soon more and more people started to join, and finally made a diffrence. They started letting black people sit and eat at the lunch table!
