A few important notes...
- There will not be a new word study list or contract this week. We are taking a break this week to focus on some grammar and writing skills. Word study will resume next week.
- Please return conference letters as soon as possible.
- We have a practicum student from Mizzou working with our class for the next two weeks. Welcome Ms. Hash!
- Reading Response will be due of Friday. The focus this week is student choice. The responses may focus on making an inference, questioning, or point of view. As always this may be posted on the blog or turned in on lined paper.
- Friday is a half day. Dismissal is at 11:45. Lunch will not be served at school.

ReplyDeleteI am reading the book Henry Huggins and the paper route by Beverly Cleary.It's about a boy named Henry Huggins who is allways bored untill one of his year older friend andhis friend has a paper route.And Henry likes that idea whall he's around the house.After his friend leaves Henry go's to Mr.Cappers house to ask for a paper route goob but on his way he see's a rumig sale and he see's four tiny littel kittens and he asked the layde how much they where the layde said one nickel per kitten Henry said he wuold buy all.then he puts all the kittens inside his jacket and zipped his jacket half way up.When he got to Mr.Cappers house he raing the door bell and Mr.Capper opened the door and right as Hengry was about to ask for the goob one of the kittens poped out it's little head.Thats all I've goten so far.My qushtin is Henry going to get the goob?And is Henry going to get in troble for buying the kittens?~Dani these are thin qushtions.

I am reading the book, Abduction by Peg Kehret. Denny is a man who is planning to kidnap his own son Matt. Denny had never seen or met Matt. Matt has always been told that his father died when he was a baby. I have a few questions. Why does Denny want to kidnap his own kid?- thick. Where has Denny been all of Matt's life because obviously he is still alive?- thick. Why did Matt's mom tell him his dad was dead?-thick. I think this book is so interesting that I don't want to put it down. If you haven't noticed already, I am so excited to find out more. - Kayla
ReplyDeleteThe book that I am reading is ORDER OF THE PHOENIX by J.K. Rowling. Since Harry is an underage wizard he wasn't supposed to use the patronus spell. Now he is in trial to see if he will be expelled from Hogwarts School. I wonder if they will expell Harry. I think this is a thin question because I will find out soon whether he goes back to school or not. I do not think he will get expelled since he used it to save his cousin Dudley.
ReplyDeleteThis week I finished Percy Jackson & The Olympians; The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan. This book is about two adventurers, Percy & Annabeth, who must find their way through an elaborate maze to reach Deadalus’ workshop where they unlock the secrets to the labyrinth to stop Luke’s invading army from taking over Camp Halfblood and Olympus. I was surprised to discover that Deadalus had been disguising himself as Quintus, the inventor of the Labyrinth! They were the same character. In the end Deadalus kills himself. I did not like that and I wondered why the author chose to have him kill himself. I wonder how the ending might have been if Quintus, (Deadalus) did not die.- Sam
