Weekly Update February 14th-18th

Happy Valentine's Day! A special thanks to all the wonderful parents who helped with the "Minute-To-Win-It" Valentine's Party on Friday. The students had so, so, so much fun!

Math- Tomorrow we have our math test over factors and multiples. We will then move on to area and perimeter.

Reading- We are taking a break from book clubs  and doing some guided reading groups for the next few weeks. Our focus will be determining the importance in what we read, finding the main idea, and summarizing.
 We have also been discussing context clues to figure out new vocabulary. 

Writing-We will continue to work on our choice piece for February. Our mini-lessons will continue to focus on paragraphing.

Word Study-Friday was a bit crazy and we did not get to take out word study test. We will take the test today. The students will not be getting new words this week. We have some make-up work we need to get to due to the earlier snow days. I will be using word study time to catch up in math and do some reviewing of some previously taught concepts.

Social Studies- Begins with Mrs. Davis tomorrow.
